• Environmental degradation;
• Loss of biodiversity in the region;
• Lack of environmental awareness by various conservation stakeholders.

• Environmental education programme focusing on the preservation of the traditional knowledge and local cultural practices of the peoples of the Congo Basin;
• Creation of an annual festival called 'Congo Basin Festival' putting culture at the service of environmental protection.

• Establishment of a cooperation network at regional level.
